MODULE 1: HEALTH AND SAFETY

As a result of satisfactorily completing this training module, participants must be able to apply basic workplace occupational health, demonstrate a basic understanding of how to control and prevent product contamination, exhibit a basic knowledge of the cause of static electricity, take proper precautions against static electrical discharge, demonstrate basic knowledge of switch loading charts and procedures, apply basic safety guidelines when handling petroleum products, apply basic first aid procedures in the event of contact with petroleum products, identify the correct personal protective equipment for bulk fuels loading, identify equipment to be worn during all operations in compliance with the Australian Dangerous Goods Code, and government regulations and guidelines and apply the essentials of either ‘Take 5’ or ‘Safe Performance Self-Assessment’ risk assessment tools before commencing work.
