Details in the application must include:
- Business name
- Business address
- Australian Business Number (ABN)
- Contact name, title and/or responsibility
- Contact numbers (Phone, mobile & email)
- Experience with dangerous goods road tankers or associated areas
- Businesses experience working with DG road tanker equipment, include qualifications and experience of personnel that will be performing future inspections.
- Provide a minimum of two referees (include relationship to the applicant) the referees must be willing to endorse and offer specific information relative to the applicant’s knowledge in dangerous goods industry processes, as well as their attitude to safety and adherence to regulations.
About the process: Safe Load Program will reply within 10 working days to further discuss the application details. If the applicant wishes to proceed then SLP will provide the applicant with a workshop self-assessment document to complete and return. Once the self-assessment has been reviewed by the SLP Compliance Manager, a pre-accreditation audit of your inspection location at a mutually convenient date is agreed. A pre-accreditation audit fee of $1500 (inc GST) which covers:
- An audit of the company system documentation relevant to the AIL component of the business
- Audit of your company’s ability to carry out SLP Pass-2-Load inspections
- Notification of the audit findings c/w an agreed time frame to rectify any non-conformances in order of importance.
- Assistance in closing out issues deemed necessary prior to accreditation
- Follow-up audit at a later date to verify close-out of relevant findings
- Ongoing support as required until accreditation is approved
Travel and associated expenses ex Sydney at cost is over and above the audit fee. On final approval an annual AIL Licence fee of: -$1,100 (inc GST) for commercial businesses -$2,200 (inc GST) for self assessment transport businesses Licence fees are charged on a pro-rata basis to 31st Dec. Note:
- Once travel costs and the AIL Licence fee has been determined and agreed, the final cost is required to be paid in advance.
- Application and pre-accreditation audit and payment does not automatically approve an applicant for licensing, applicants are required to satisfy SLP that their business has the facilities, skills and experience to safely operate under licence to SLP.
